BALA KRISHNAs OKKA MAGADU TRAILER - KALCHAs OPINION

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

BALA KRISHNA in and as OKKA MAGADU is one of the most highly anticipated movies in the early part of the new year 2008. The reasons for this anticipation are quite simple… Bala Krishna had a series of FLOPS. But for the first time, he is pairing with Y V S CHOWDARY. YVS is a self proclaimed hardcore FAN of Nandamuri Clan. So, it is natural that he would put his everything in to the movie. Moreover, 2007 has proved to be the DEATH BED for TOP STARS except VENKATESH. Okka Magadu is like a MAKE or BREAK movie for Bala Krishna. So, watch this trailer and express your opinion….

MY OPINION IS THAT THE TRAILER IS NOTHING SPECIAL IN TECHNICAL TERMS. But it was never technical value that makes a BLOCKBUSTER out of Bala Krishna’s movies.

Just by watching this trailer… I PREDICT THAT OKKA MAGADU WOULD SHATTER ALL RECORDS SET BY HIS EARLIER FILMS. THE REASON IS QUITE SIMPLE. YVS HAS ABUNDANT COMMERCIAL SENSE. THAT IS WELL PROJECTED IN THE TRAILER. THE FIERCE COMPARISON WITH A LION IS ENOUGH FOR BALA KRISHNAs FANS TO MAKE THIS MOVIE A BLOCKBUSTER. I REST MY CASE.

Vikram And Shriya Starrer “Mallanna” Movie Launched With A Promotional Trailer…

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

MALLANNA… Yeah! This is the title of the new movie that is launched on 24 September, 2007 in Prasad Labs of Hyderabad. But what makes it special? Well, the movie stars one of my all time favorite actors VIKRAM and beautiful SHRIYA in the lead… So, it is a killer combination… Don’t you agree? What else is interesting about this movie? It is a Bi-lingual. If anyone of you are not aware of the term… it is just that the movie will be made in a couple of languages. In this case Tamil and Telugu. There will be no problems that arise out of dubbing a Tamil movie into Telugu or Vice-Versa. And, the movie is conceptualized and being directed by Susi Ganesh. He worked with Mani Ratnam in the past. And according to Vikram, Susi Ganesh is a perfect combination of Mani Ratnam and Shankar. And I believe his take on him… The reason being the Promo, Teaser or Trailer… what ever you call it. Just watch this magnificent trailer and tell me if you disagree…

Did you watch it? What do you say? Simply fabulous… isn’t it? Anyway, the extravagant launch was attended by Dasari Narayana Rao, DVS Raju, K. Raghavendra Rao, Ramesh Prasad, C. Kalyan, Susi Ganesh, Ekambaram, Devi Sri Prasad, Priyamani, Kaveri, Vikram, Shriya and Kalaipuli Thanu. The Tamil version is called Kanthaswamy (Lord Muruga) and the Telugu version is called Mallanna (Lord Shiva). According to Susi Ganesh, the movie has a social message and will especially be liked by kids and youth as the movie is being crafted on a Hollywood scale… Moreover the lead actor Vikram is appearing in various getups heightening the curiosity factor. The movie would be ready for release in April, 2008.

According to DVS Raju, Kalaipuli Thanu specializes in getting everybody’s attention with extravagant acts. He always make sure that his films are special. And that the trailer of Mallanna reminds him of Hollywood trailers. And according to Vikram this extravagant invitation is just the tip of the iceberg and also the trailers of Mallanna sparked tremendous response. He says, Kalaipuli Thanu is also called as Publicity King back in Chennai. And that Mallanna will be another feather in his cap after Siva Putrudu and Aparichitudu.

MOVIE: Mallanna
CAST: Vikram, Shriya
CINEMATOGRAPHER: Ekambaram
MUSIC DIRECTOR: Devi Sri Prasad
PRODUCER: Kalaipuli Thanu
BANNER: V Creations
DIRECTOR: Susi Ganesh

Even Though Not Excellent, Ram Charan Tej’s Debut Movie CHIRUTHA Trailer Is Quiet Impressive…

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

CHIRUTHA trailer is out for all to watch and get curious… Now along with all of U… I too got curious… as to why is Puri Jagannath’s Chirutha team is so SHY… Now don’t get me wrong guys/gals… I too like Chiranjeevi (But unlike most of his fans, my liking for his movies got a break long ago… I am a great fan of his yesteryear classics… What can I do? I don’t like his movies that are tailor made for his fans… But I know that he is a great actor and has done masterpieces… but sadly not any more… So my comments are purely technical… But I know chiru’s fans would hate me for my comments…). So, first enjoy the trailer and then… if interested read my comments and then u can start hating me for Ur heart’s content… But deep down I feel many of U would agree with me… but might be afraid of showing Ur true feeling. Be expressive and remember that we live in a free country… Chak De! INDIA…

Now that U have watched the trailer, I would lay down the positives… I am impressed by the glimpses into the cinematographic potent of the movie (Cinematographer: Senthil Kumar)… I am also impressed by the slick editing of the trailer… But as for my grouse… I was really curious as to why is Puri Jagannath’s team is so shyly and cowardly safe played by not showing Ram Charan Tej up front and in close up… and not even a glimpse of the heroine? Why does these directors and heroes take heroines for granted and think they are dispensable like tissue papers… I can understand the shyness, if I was expecting a cinematic masterpiece… But lets face it… After all it is going to be a run of the mill commercial pot boiler with a formulaic mixture of Chiranjeevi’s great classics like Qaidi and Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari and many more… only to make Instant Blockbusters like those Instant Dosas… Everyone eats them but no one would really say Instant Dosas are their favorite dish… Tollywood needs originals and not these formulaic blockbusters to break the jinx of the also ran industry…—KALCHA
