MULTI-STARERS have traditionally been among the highest grossing movies in BOLLYWOOD… from SHOLAY to RDB… and many more before, after and in between. Same was the case with Tollywood as well with frequently made successful multi-starers. From MAYABAZAR to MAJOR CHANDRAKANTH… there are many examples. But, the trend took a severe beating in recent times in Tollywood. As of today, Telugu film stars are being given the status of DEMI-GODS. This trend is very unhealthy. Someone has to take the initiative. Actor PRABHAS is the only hero who is now keen to act in multi-starer films. He said that if any director comes forward to make multi-starer films, he would be ready to act in them.

Now, the real question is… “If the directors and actors have no time to work on the SCRIPTS for SOLO films (This year’s examples of Poorly scripted FLOPS are ANNAVARAM, YOGI, MAHARADHI, MUNNA, CHIRUTHA, ATHIDHI), where would they get the time to work on MULTI-STARER scripts?” If PRABHAS finds no takers for his good intentions, then the Tollywood audiences would be the real losers. We would lose the UNIQUE ENTERTAINMENT VALUE AND DIMENSION that only Multi-Starers can bring to us. —KALCHA

PRABHAS has seen hits and flops in almost equal measure in his career… He made his TOLLYWOOD entry with the film Eswar under the direction of Vamsi Paidipalli. Eswar was the debut movie for both of them… Now this combination is uniting with the most successful producer in recent times Dil Raju, hottest girl around Telugu tinsel town ILEANA and music director Harris Jayaraj for MUNNA. “I share a special friendship with Vamsi as we both made our debuts together and I really enjoyed myself working on the set of the film and he adds that Dil Raju is a maverick producer as every film he has produced has been a hit and I am sure this one will be a success too.” says Prabhas. And by the way, dear readers MUNNA is hitting the screens on April 27, 2007.

Yogi is again one of the easiest to predict… Actually it makes me wonder as to which decade this movie belongs to? During the 1980s we used to bear the torture of many of these so called mother sentimental drama flicks… but since then, humans species have matured enough to reject them and I feel Tollywood audience are among them… And no prizes to any one for guessing my prediction… ‘Coz even a kindergarten student can predict this…

IN A NUTSHELL: Huge first day collections and there ends the party… ‘Coz before the week ends it is out of many theaters to even start a publicity campaign reporting fake collections to boost the box-office… So it would end up as another Prabhas’s never ending series of disasters…
