ILEANA must be one lucky gal… You must be thinking along the same lines… Aren’t you? I mean after all she is said to have signed up for a film for Rs. 1 Crore+Transportation+Stay as her remuneration, produced by Bellamkonda Suresh which in turn is being directed by K. Vijaya Bhaskar with TARUN as the leading man… Or is he a leading man?

But seriously, how many of you think ILEANA is lucky…? And how many of you think TARUN is lucky…? Well, as for me… I feel Tarun struck gold here… Because, the last time Tarun gave a hit at the box-office wassssss………… almost half a decade ago. So, its beyond obvious that he desperately needs a hit… And can he pull the audience to the theaters on his own right now? That’s a big NOOO. So, Ileana is his biggest vehicle to make a comeback…

As far as Ileana is concerned, after DEVADASU and POKIRI, she hasn’t delivered a single hit yet… And in fact her movies subsequently were KHATARNAK, MUNNA and AATA… All of them have been disasters. So why is K. Vijaya Bhaskar making his producer pay Ileana the huge PayCheck (remuneration)…? Because, K. Vijaya Bhaskar seems to like it that way… Remember… he made a producer pay Rs. 70 Lakhs even to an undeserving KATRINA KAIF for MALLISWARI.

I would say, if a producer can pay a hefty remuneration to Katrina Kaif, then why not to ILEANA…? I mean she is undoubtedly Sensuous, Glamorous and can deliver an above average performance too… And, I genuinely feel… AATA ran for that 1 week (Only Week) just on her shoulders or should I say thunder thighs? —KALCHA

TARUN, WITH AN EVER RADIATING SMILE

IF dream debuts can ever build dream careers… many actors could have made it to the top by now… But as fate would have it they ended up being Tollywood’s favorite whipping boys for their own myriad reasons… So shall we start the journey of whipping them…

TARUN would be my first choice to whip… I mean he is really the SENIOR among the losers literally… Having started his career as a talented child artist, mesmerizing us with his unflinching performances in Teja, Aditya 369 and above all Mani Ratnam’s Anjali, he could have taken the path of becoming a natural actor working with great directors of the southern film industry… Believe me, it was literally his choice to debut with whoever he chose to… But he has his own mind or did he? Grapevine is that his mother controls his career… He chose stardom over pure exhilaration that great actors enjoy through their profession… There started his downturn… Now, he made his choice… and how wrong he was… I mean he chose to debut as a full fledged hero through NUVVE KAVALI. One of the easiest ways to establish as a star… a romantic one at that. The movie went on to become one of the year’s biggest hits…

So why did I say… he was wrong…? The answer to my question is… Has he continued the journey? Not really… Except Nuvve Nuvve, all of his other films have either been flops or at best average grossers at the box-office… His forgettable flops being Uncle, Chirujallu, Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu, Adrushtam, Soggadu, Oka Oorilo… Ooooh! Quiet an impressive list.

So what went wrong? The primary reason for these debacles being the lack of enough talented directors to tap the potential of this NATURALLY TALENTED, BORN ACTOR… or the choices he made… Moreover, Tollywood audience never consider these talented actors seriously, just because they are not heroic enough to beat up at least 10-25 goons at the drop of a hat… Then, he succumbed to his innate traits of much discussed off-screen arrogance, attitude, romantic escapades, and above all Aarti’s episode… The last reason made this reel life hero into a real life villain in the eyes of Tollywood audience and so made him their favorite whipping boy…

So where does he stand now? Tarun, who hasn’t had a release for a long time (Last one being Oka Oorilo in 2005), has only ONE film currently on floor, Megaa Supergood Films Pvt. Ltd.’s NAVA VASANTHAM, directed by Shahjahan, where he shares screen space with Akash, Rohit and Suneel. It has Priyamani and Ankita playing the female leads. Notwithstanding his other traits, I wish some common sense and a lot of luck for this talented actor. —KALCHA

TARUN is all set to come out of a two year hiatus from TOLLYWOOD. He chose to comeback with a Telugu reamke of a Tamil hit PUNNAGAI DESAM. Tarun made his debut as a hero with NUVVE KAVALI which created sensation at the box-office. Now it’s almost as a debut for him as he is going to face camera after two year hiatus. Tarun says, “I took a break because I was seeking good subjects, scripts and roles. My fans, however, would rather wish I do love stories. And I am going to give them that.” And by the way actress PRIYAMANI is also acting in this film.

TARUN was the lover boy of TOLLYWOOD in the distant past… Now there are many claiming that spot and if at all Tarun wants to make a comeback, he cannot do so as a lover boy… Firstly, he is not that young to be called as a lover “boy”. Secondly, after everything that has happened between Tarun and Aarti Agarwal, I expect the undercurrent public sympathy to be in favour of Aarti and against him… That might prove to be a huge hurdle to cross… It is being speculated that he is preparing for a comeback with his first Tamil movie PUNNAGAI DESAM being remade in Telugu with probably PRIYAMANI replacing SNEHA in the female lead… But, all said and done, Tarun has always been one of the most efficient actors when it comes to performing… So I wish him luck and hope Tollywood audience would take his film on its merit rather than his background…
